This handmade wool purse or tote bag is crafted by the late Jackie Hansen. Each bag is unique, hand-knitted, machine felted in very hot water, and then blocked into shape. After drying, water should not be used on the purse. It can be wiped gently with a slightly damp cloth if needed, but a lint roller is best to remove dust or stray threads.
Key Features:
- Purse feet for added protection
- Magnetic snap closures for secure fastening
- Fully lined with pre-washed cotton fabrics or silk
- A foam core base reinforced with Plexiglas for extra strength
Storage & Care Instructions:
- When storing the purse, move the solid base sideways and lay the purse on its side.
- Before using the purse again, push the base back down flat and fluff the embellishment ribbons and eyelash yarns.
- Although the wool used is moth-proofed, storing the bag with mothballs in a small container or baggy is recommended for extra protection.
Handle Options:
- Some hand-carry bags feature wooden or polyester handles.
- Newer bags come with metal handles adorned with a variety of Pandora-style beads (some may be glass), but non-breakable beads are positioned to touch hard surfaces first.
- If needed, the handles can be detached from the rings, allowing bead replacements.
- Shoulder bags have leather straps, with some featuring stone beads that are virtually unbreakable.
Additional Care:
- Wipe with a damp cloth for light cleaning and use a lint roller to remove dust or stray threads.
- Proper storage helps maintain the shape and integrity of the purse, especially regarding the foam base and exterior embellishments.
