Handmade Wool Felted Purse Features and Care for Felted Wool Purses & Totes

This felted wool purse or tote bag is a beautifully handcrafted piece by the late Jackie Hansen. Each one is unique, hand-knitted, machine-felted in very hot water, and then blocked into shape. Once the purse dries, it is no longer water-friendly, and it should be wiped carefully with a slightly damp cloth if needed. For dust or stray threads, a lint roller works best.

All purses come with purse feet, magnetic snap closures, and are fully lined with pre-washed cotton fabrics or silk. Inside, there is a foam core base reinforced with Plexiglas for added strength.

Storage Tips:

• When storing, move the solid base sideways in the purse and lay it on its side.
• When ready to use it again, push the base back down flat in the bag and fluff up the embellishment ribbons and eyelash yarns on the outside.
• For moth protection, storing the purse with a few mothballs in a small container or baggy is recommended.

Handle Options:

• Some hand-carry bags feature wooden or polyester handles, while newer ones come with beads on metal handles, including Pandora-style glass beads.
• Shoulder bags have leather straps, with some featuring stone beads that are virtually unbreakable.

Care Instructions:

• Gently clean your wool purse by wiping with a damp cloth or using a lint roller.
• For long-term care, store the purse properly, and occasionally fluff the exterior for longevity.
